The DiGiovanna Family Health and Wellness Center has been serving the South Shore of Nassau County communities for over 50 years, with a primary focus on Primary Care Medicine and Acute Medical Care. With a tradition started in 1959 by it’s founders, Dr. Joseph A. DiGiovanna and Dr. Eileen E. DiGiovanna, and continued today by Dr. Michael J. DiGiovanna, the DiGiovanna Family Health and Wellness Center has participated in the training of Primary Medical Providers, such as Osteopathic medical students and students in Physician Assistant programs as well as Nurse Practitioner programs. As such, the DiGiovanna Family Health and Wellness Center has turned out several generations of well-trained Primary Care Providers.
Because of this long tradition of Primary Care training, the DiGiovanna Family Health and Wellness Center is well-equipped to provide a complete package of Primary Care services, such as:
Management of chronic conditions, such as hypertension, elevated cholesterol, diabetes management, atrial fibrillation management, obesity, anxiety and depression, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, migraine headaches, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel disease, chronic low back and neck pain, and many others
Management of acute medical condition: See below
Preventive Medical Services, such as mammography, colonoscopy, prostate examinations, PAP smears and breast examinations, screening blood work and vaccinations

ACUTE MEDICAL CARE
The DiGiovanna Family Health and Wellness Center is well-equipped to handle most acute medical care problems. With a well-equipped office and a highly-trained staff, the DiGiovanna Family Health and Wellness Center stands ready to evaluate and treat patients in need of urgent and same day medical problems, both on a walk-in basis or with an appointment. Patients are triaged efficiently and evaluated by our medical assisting staff to prepare the patients to be examined and treated by our medical staff. The DiGiovanna Family Health and Wellness Center is equipped with x-ray equipment, casting, splinting and taping materials, suturing and wound care material, rapid diagnostic laboratory testing and pulmonary function testing. With extended daytime and weekend hours, the DiGiovanna Family Health and Wellness Center is capable of handling most acute medical problems, such as:
