About Us

Our Story

Committed to Medical Excellence

The DiGiovanna Family Health and Wellness Center began serving the South Shore of Nassau County communities in 1959 when it was established by Joseph A. DiGiovanna D.O. and Eileen L. DiGiovanna D.O.

In 1988, Michael J. DiGiovanna D.O., CPI joined the DiGiovanna Family Health & Wellness Center and continues the Osteopathic and Family Practice tradition begun by his parents.

Through it’s affiliations with the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine since 1983, Georgetown University Medical School, West Virginia Osteopathic Medical School, and The Donald & Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, the DiGiovanna Family Health and Wellness Center has a long tradition of teaching and medical education. Recent additions to it’s teaching programs include NYIT Physician Assistant Program, Touro College Physician Assistant Program, the Stony Brook University Physician Assistant Program, Malloy College Nurse Practitioner Program and LIU/CW Post Nurse Practitioner program.

Clinical research became an important part of the practice since 1992. Clinical research trials have been performed with Pfizer, GlaxoSmithKline, AstraZeneca, Abbott/Abbvie, Novo Nordisk, Eli Lilly and many other major pharmaceutical partners.

In August, 2020, the DiGiovanna Family Health & Wellness Center became a division of New York Health, a subsidiary of New York Cancer & Blood Specialists, which enabled us to grow into a multi-specialty group.  On-site consultations are now available in Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Hematology & Oncology, Urology, General surgery, Neurology, and Neurosurgery.  Several additional specialties are being considered in the near future.

The focus of the practice today incorporates the very importance of health, wellness and nutrition.
